Happiness is kind of a subjective term – and it’s truly in the eye of the beholder. For one person, happiness could be solitude on an island, curling up with a good book or simply watching a sunset with a loved one. For someone else, it could be engaging in some problem solving, performing live, etc. One thing is for sure though; everyone wants to be happy. If you’re looking for hard proof, consider the number of self-help seminars and literature on the topic. Amazon alone has 67,000+ books on the topic of finding happiness; however, it doesn’t have to be so complicated. If you take the time to analyze the characteristics of truly “happy people”, you’ll notice a few reoccurring traits:
Embracing any combination of the above can definitely help to bring more happiness into your life. The underlying theme here – or rather, common thread – is really to put everything into perspective, and understand what matters most in your life. Don’t sweat the small stuff!
