Barrie’s 10th Annual Waterfront Festival

Posted by on in Neighbourhood Favourites
The first long weekend of the summer is finally upon us – and there’s a great way to celebrate it in Barrie. Gather up friends and family and head over to the 10th Annual Barrie Waterfront Festival at Centennial Park.

This event includes outdoor entertainment, food and drinks – with free admission! This year’s highlights are street buskers, a midway with rides, face painting, street vendors, fresh food, treats and contests.

The spring music line-up will also feature several live bands from a variety of genres. Saturday will feature tributes of the hits from the 30’s and 40's by the Toronto All-Star Big Band, and KC Roberts during the afternoon. In the evening, pop music by Eleven Past One and Prty H3ro, a hip-pop-dance rock trio, will take the stage. Love classic rock? Sunday will feature Hot Rocks (Rolling Stones), Mama Kin (Aerosmith) and Crush (Bon Jovi).

The festivities will kick off at 5pm on Friday, May 23rd and go until 10:00pm. The fun will pick back up on Saturday May 24th from noon to 10pm and again on Sunday May 25th from noon until 6pm.

In support of the local Barrie community, the Great Strides Walk, which supports Cystic Fibrosis Canada, will take place on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. If you’re interested in participating in the walk, you can sign up at the beer garden starting at 9 a.m.

Stay tuned as I share many more of the amazing events happening in Barrie this year! I hope you enjoy the Waterfront Festival and have a great weekend!
