Award Nomination: ENERGY STAR Builder of the Year

Posted by on in Sean Press

Excitingly again this year, Sean Homes was nominated for an EnerQuality award: the ENERGY STAR for New Homes Builder of the Year (Mid-Volume). The EnerQuality awards recognize “leaders, influencers and innovators in the residential green building and construction industry in Ontario.”

Homes built to ENERGY STAR specifications are about 20% more efficient than a standard home. They give homeowners a healthier living environment and substantial savings on energy bills.

Our team at the 2015 BILD Awards in Toronto, taking home the Green Builder of the Year award.

Building green is a key part of our team’s mandate. Our mission is to build modern, healthier and more affordable green homes in sustainable communities. I want to help people connect with their neighbours and neighbourhoods. Sean homes are better built for your health and the planet’s. They have high performance insulation, windows, appliances and heating systems. These things allow you to breathe easy and to save money. Learn more about my Passion Forward mission here.

The Barrie community design is green, too. From initial planning to land development and construction, my team worked together to design an integrated, sustainable community. We preserved trees and planted native species, and added green corridors to create a beautiful environment. The community is walkable and pedestrian-friendly with shared open spaces. It uses low impact development, which controls water naturally at the lot level and prevents runoff, flooding and erosion. The community is close to parks and Barrie’s many amenities, so you can play more and enjoy an active lifestyle. It’s all designed to be connected and livable.

My team and I are proud and thankful for the nomination. Let’s keep building green and making the future a better place.
