Why Greenhouse Gases Are Reaching Record Highs – And How We Can Help. While reading the news this week, one particular article really hit home for me – and it really bothered me. This week, I want to talk about greenhouse gas. According to recent research, we’ve hit a record high of carbon dioxide emissions – the highest rate we’ve seen in 30 years. I think walkability is a beautiful, holistic idea, but one that we’re just starting to scratch the surface of.

How Canadians’ Opinions Impact Green Building Building on the last two weeks where we talked about green building trends, I want to turn your attention to a brand new study that came out this week. According to a new report prepared by McGraw Hill Construction, the Canadian green building market is growing steadily and homeowners are starting to see the benefits of building green. How the “Savings by Design” Program Benefits Homebuyers “Savings by Design” is a green building initiative introduced by Enbridge Gas Distribution. The intention of the program is to help builders like myself design and construct high-performance houses. I’m a huge fan of the program because it allows me to build homes that are green, healthy and cost-effective.  A common misconception is that new costs more.
